Buses 1-4

The Chicago Aurora & Elgin’s two White model 784 and two 788 buses were used for the connecting motor coach service that replaced the Geneva branch rail service. Bus 4, a 788, is seen sanding with its door open.

Lakewood was the connection point for the Geneva/St. Charles motor coach route which replaced the Geneva branch. Here, the station is seen in full operation. A bus, at left, makes a connection with the rail line, while car 454 passes 456. A group of railfans has formed a photo line, at right, to photograph the occasion.
